Martingale Roulette System

This is the most popular roulette strategy :

First bet is 1€, then 2, then 4 and so on. No matter which stage of the progression you win at, you will always recoup your previous bets plus get a profit of one unit. For example if you won on 4, you will win 8€  which will recover your previous losses (1+2+3=7) plus the 1 profit.
At first this sounds like an inflammable idea but ... don't go rushing into real money play. You see it starts out nice and safe but it soon becomes risky, here is the full mathematical sequence that you would need.
1 - 2 - 4 - 8 - 16 - 32 - 64 - 128 - 256 - 512 - 1024 - 2048 - 4096
As you can see, the progression soon becomes too risky to use. Also casinos both online and offline apply table limits to their games which prevent people from betting that much anyway.
Variations Of The Martingale
The numbers involved in the progression can be adjusted to suit any part of the table. For example you could bet on a dozen using this progression:
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 6 - 9 - 13 - 20 - 30 - 45 - 67 - 100
That is a little bit safer with regards to the amounts that you need to bet as you can see but the problem is that you are covering less of the table with a dozen (33%) so you aren't going to be winning as much either.
Reverse Martingale
You can also use what's called the reverse martingale and this can is best applied to the even chance bets (colours, odd/even and 1-18/19-36). With the regular martingale you double your bets after a loss, this has already been explained.
With the reverse martingale you double them after a win instead. The hope here is that you can ride a winning streak and hopefully get a big win. The easiest way to do this would be to bet on a colour and keep betting on it.
For example if you bet on red and win, you would then bet on red again with double the amount you just bet and hope that another red comes up. What you would hope for is a run of 6+ reds in a row to give you the big win.
Here are the problems with this style of betting. First of all it's easy to get greedy and not walk away when you originally intended to, human emotion tells us to just place one more bet rather than being happy with what we've got.
